We take your privacy seriously… but not so seriously that you’ll need a law degree to understand this. Here’s what’s going on behind the curtain when you use our website:
What We Collect
- What you type in: If you fill out our contact form, your message goes only to A Debt Coach (they provide free counseling, not spam).
- What your computer shares automatically: Like all websites, ours keeps some technical notes — things like your IP address, browser type, and what pages you visited. These “logfiles” help us keep the site running smoothly and troubleshoot when it doesn’t.
- What our analytics tools whisper to us: We use Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and ad conversion tools. These tell us things like how many people visited a page, not what you had for breakfast. Reports come to us in aggregate form — we don’t know who you are.
What We Do With It
- Answer your questions (via A Debt Coach).
- Keep the website running without catching fire.
- Figure out if anyone is actually reading this.
- Improve our content and outreach efforts.
We do not sell your personal information. Seriously. We have better things to do.
Sharing (But Not Oversharing)
- A Debt Coach gets your contact form submissions.
- Our hosting and analytics providers get some of the technical stuff to do their jobs.
- If a court orders us, or if the law requires it, we’ll share — but otherwise your info stays put.
Your Choices
- Don’t want Google Analytics tracking? Grab their opt-out tool.
- Microsoft has controls too: Microsoft Privacy.
- Or you can just avoid the internet entirely, but that seems drastic.
Data Retention
- Contact form submissions: kept by A Debt Coach only as long as needed to provide counseling and meet obligations.
- Logfiles: rotated out after a while (we don’t hoard them).
- Analytics data: lives as long as Google/Microsoft decide, not us.
Security
We use reasonable measures to keep your info safe. But let’s be real: no website is Fort Knox.
Children’s Privacy
This site is for adults in the United States—If you’re under 13, please go read a comic book instead.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, we’ll post the new version here. If it ever gets longer than a credit card agreement, feel free to complain.
